Back to basics: Recycled mini booklets for Wood Melbourne

Wood Melbourne booklets

Sometimes the idea of having 'flashy' booklets printed on gloss paper doesn't work for everyone - it can be best to just keep it sweet and simple, sticking to the basics.

Not only can it look aesthetically pleasing and better align with what your company stands for, it can also save you some dollars and be beneficial to the environment.

Wood Melbourne is one company that decided to take this design route when it came to printing their 12-page installation mini booklet guides.

The brainchild of builder, carpenter and inventor Oliver MacLatchy, Wood Melbourne specialises in creating handmade timber spouts that are a sustainable and natural alternative to traditional spouts.

The raw timber used to make each spout goes through a 12-step process that involves the removal of nails, sanding and waxing, ensuring that the finished product is of "exceptional craftsmanship and quality".

Wood Melbourne's products include the Isla timber bath spout and Kiri timber bath spout, both of which would make a great addition to any home that holds great design and sustainability in high regard.

It's not only Wood Melbourne's unique products that are getting the 'sustainable treatment', but also their cleverly designed installation mini booklet guides.

These A7 size booklets have an organic feel to them, with a slightly grainy look that is somewhat reminiscent of timber. Sustainable printing was used to create these booklets, which were digitally printed on 100 per cent post-consumer recycled 105gsm Ecocern raw brown unbleached paper.

There's nothing too fancy to the design of the booklets, but its fantastic use of spacing and simple green font on brown paper make it a definite sight for sore eyes, proving that simplicity can be key in design.
