Booklets

PrintTogether offer a range of booklet options. The best method of printing and binding booklets depending on the size of booklet, number of pages and quantity required.

Booklet printing and binding options

Small run saddle stitch booklets
For small run booklets (1 to 500 copies) up to 64 pages. PrintTogether use a Xerox Versant 2100 digital press with an inline Plockmatic booklet maker. This means booklets can be printed, collated, saddle stitch stapled and trimmed all in one process. This is the fastest and most cost effect way to produce small run booklets. Our plockmatic booklet maker also has a square edge function, meaning saddle stitch booklets can be made with a square edge spine. This allows our small run saddle stitch booklets to sit flat and have the appearance of a perfect bound booklet but without the extra expense.

Large run saddle stitch booklets
For larger run booklets (500 to 10,000+) over 32 pages in size, we print offset and saddle stitch on an external collator and binder. This is the most efficient way of saddle stitching offset printed sheets.

Other methods of binding

PrintTogether online booklet prices are all for saddle stitch binding as this is the most common and cost effective method om making booklets. We do however offer Wiro and PUR binding on request. Lets take a look at the difference between saddle stitch, wiro and PUR binding.

Saddle stitch booklets
Saddle stitching is the most common method of booklet making. It is when two or more printed sheets of paper are collated, folded in half and then stapled in the spine to create a booklet.

Wiro binding
Wiro binding is when individual pages are punched and bound together with a look of wire.

PUR binding
PUR binding is similar to perfect binding and burst binding however uses a stronger glue. It is ideal for both coated and uncoated paper as well as digital and offset printed sheets of paper.
