Taking care of business with TEAR Australia

We're all for supporting a good cause, and you don't get much better than TEAR Australia. This is one organisation with serious heart, working to address the needs of the world's impoverished communities. The organisation opens up its arms to everyone, regardless of their beliefs, in order to support those who need it most.

TEAR Australia is currently working on projects all over the world, including one right in our own backyard. Dhumba is the Indigenous Support Program for Tear Australia, based on the Woi Wurrung word for "talk". TEAR aims to use Dhumba to further develop relationships with Indigenous Christian organisations, supporting the nation's development of its Indigenous population. The main focus of Dhumba is capacity-building and community development training, with a committee of mostly Indigenous people guiding the project along.

Another interesting ongoing project is the 'Peace Baking' Development Program in Uganda, which involves farmers using their crops to bake products. The project aims to encourage literacy, health, business and community-building skills in Uganda.

The Improving Livelihoods and Food Security project is underway in Kenya, where a women's self-help group meets to train in activities such as organic farming, chicken rearing and account keeping. Women can earn a living through their farming to help support their families, along with getting the tools to open bank accounts and save money.

Tear Australia business cards
To assist this incredible group in spreading their message and showcase their good work, we've helped them put together some spiffy recycled business cards. Printed on 350gsm EcoStar, 100 per cent post-consumer recycled card and showcasing brilliantly coloured yet sustainable vegetable-based inks, the cards are bright, vibrant and feature stunning photographs to help display some of TEAR Australia's brilliant work. After all, even the most selfless of good deeds deserve a little bit of showing off!
