How is EDO Tasmania working to look after the environment of Tasmania?

What is EDO Tasmania?

EDO Tasmania is a legal service that offers free information and advice to the community of Tasmania. The centre doesn't work for profit - instead, the team freely offers help with matters relating to the environment, such as forestry, marine farming, mining, protection of cultural heritage, the coast and more.

The primary aim of the centre is to bring awareness about what rights and responsibilities the community has when it comes to resource management and the environment. The centre has had many significant cases throughout the years and hopes to remain a key part of the community.

What's the latest?

This is a difficult time for EDO Tasmania. After 18 years of support, the Australian Government cut funding on June 30. Since then the centre has been running on limited resources. When these resources run out it will be forced to close, unless it can survive on donations.

Spreading the word

One way the team of EDO Tasmania are spreading the word is through brochures. These brochures are eye catching and bright. One side has the image of a Tasmanian devil, throwing off his judge's outfit.

It reads, "Tasmania's environment is worth fighting for. But we need your help. Thank You." The primary colours are vibrant green and gloomy grey - which helps to highlight the cause, to save and preserve the environment by choosing a clean, green approach.

The inside of the brochure has all of the information you could need, talking about the beauty of the area, why it is worth looking after, and how EDO Tasmania plays a part. There is also a 'make a tax deductible donation' section, which makes contributing easy.

How have the brochures been created?

The brochures were printed with 140gsm EcoStar 100 per cent post-consumer recycled paper stock using vegetable based inks by PrintTogether in Melbourne.
