Below are a few details to help you prepare your artwork for print:
Standard sizes
Artwork size: Please ensure artwork has a minimum of 3mm bleed in addition to the sizes below.
Business cards: 90mm x 55mm
Letterhead: 210mm (w) x 297mm (h)
Compliment slips: 210mm (w) x 99mm (h)
A7: 105mm x 74mm
A6: 105mm x 148mm
A5: 210mm x 148mm
A4: 210mm x 297mm
A3: 420mm x 297mm
DL: 210mm x 99mm
Colours: CMYK
Image Resolution: 300dpi.
Fonts: Embed into hi-resolution press ready PDFs.
File format: Please supply ‘Press Ready’ PDFs as single page files with 3mm bleed.
Don’t know what we are talking about?
Colour: For professional lithographic offset printing, we require files to be setup as CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow & Black). Note: Monitors use a different colour setting RGB (Red, Green & Blue). Printed colours may therefore appear slightly different on paper than on screen. For more information, speak with your designer or contact us.
Bleed: This is extra space around your actual artwork. If you have a colour or an image that goes all the way to the edge of your artwork, you need to also allow a minimum of 3mm overlap (bleed). That way no exposed edges will show after your materials have been trimmed.
Image resolution: Images need to have a resolution of 300dpi (dots per inch) for the purpose of printing. Images taken from websites are generally set to just 72dpi. Using low resolution images such as this will result in a blurry, low quality print job. Digital camera images also need to be converted to 300dpi and CMYK.
Fonts: Please ensure all fonts are embedded into your hi-resolution PDF. If you do not embed them we may not have the same font on file, which will result in it being substituted with an alternate basic font.
